The Raidmax power supply is now installed along with the front bezel, and the case is starting to take shape! In fact, the only thing left for us to do is mount our Lightstrips, add the drive cables, and wire everything to our inverter bus!

For the drive cables, I chose to use some clear mesh rounded cables supplied to me by my buddy William over at Heatsink Factory. I figured they would add a nice touch to offset all of the lights in the case better than plain blue cables would, and I was right.

I decided to locate the Lightstrips in the following areas to maximize their effectiveness:

  • 2 blues on the bottom of the case
  • 2 reds running up the sides of the front bezel
  • 1 green on the back left of the case (beside the exhaust fan)
  • 1 green wrapped directly around the system RAM module

Yes, you read that right. I wrapped one Lightstrip directly around the RAM module heat spreader! Now that the Lightstrips are installed, all that's left to do is attach all of our fans and Lightstrips to the inverter bus, and admire our work!

And there we have it. I was very happy with how this clear PC came out, as was it's new owner, 'Stick Em Up', which is located in Northridge Fashion Center in Northridge, California. It sits right in front of their booth, and everyone who comes by manages to notice that it is one nifty piece of electronics, even if they don't know what the heck it is. It gets even better when they find out that it IS a computer and it IS actually being used for making their vinyl stickers. Then they really flip out! I mean after all....to most people a computer is nothing more than a beige box that allows them to surf the web, do email and play games. Who'd have thought one could ever look like this?!? The fact that I can open their eyes to a new outlook on computers makes my job a lot of fun, and brings more and more case modders into our world all the time.

In closing, I must say that one of the best things about being a computer modder is the fact that your imagination is the only limit, and when others notice the hard work and effort you put into making something a reflection of your creativity, it really does make the saying "Your work is your love made visible" hold true.
