Before you install your new non-electrically conductive Socket A spacer, please take a moment to read over the following tips we have put together to help ensure a successful installation and to help you get the most out of this product without needlessly, and permanantly, damaging your CPU.

(The whole reason you bought this spacer was to prevent that right?)

Even though they have been manufactured to the utmost standard of quality, just because they left us in perfect condition doesn't mean they got to you in perfect shape, so you must be sure it is in good order.

Because this spacer was made to leave a fraction of an inch between it and the CPU core, before installing it you must check to ensure that it is as flat as it can get.

This spacer was manufactured from a precision ground and thin aluminum material, and it can warp pretty easily. MINOR warpage will not hurt anything (minor meaning smaller than your eye can see) it is the obvious warpage you should be concerned with.

What you DON'T want is it keeping your heatsink from touching the core. This will FRY AN ATHLON IN UNDER ONE MINUTE!!! I have seen it happen.
